The Limerick Development Plan 2022-2028 was adopted by the Elected Members of Limerick City and County Council at a Special Meeting on 17th June 2022 and came into effect on 29th July 2022.
Consultation Process
The report on consultation prior to the adoption of the plan had a submissions of interest to PRA members
- Milford Grange residents (Page 160) (Prior to the formation of the Plassey Residents Association).
- Town & Country Resources Limited on behalf of the Little Company of Mary (Page 141)
Implications of Plan
The written statement of the plan indicates that there is a drive to “Support the provision of high quality, professionally managed purposebuilt student accommodation” across the city to include. City Centre and Groody Valley.
So far in terms of implementation UL has the following in the pipeline.
- 20-house student village in Rhebogue due for completion in August 2023.
- Permission granted for the construction of 26 apartments with a total of 202 student bed spaces in the Old Dublin Road.
